Drive along the Coastline

Your rental car will be waiting for you at Corfu Airport, where you can start your road trip. Heading north from Corfu airport, following the signs to Kassiopi, and driving the main coastal road, you will come across popular seaside resorts like Barbati, Nisaki, and Kalami, where you can stop for a swim in the crystal-clear waters. Moving on, you will reach Kassiopi, a well-known fishing village with a Byzantine castle and many shops, taverns, and bars.

Old Perithia

Less than 30 minutes drive from Kassiopi, you’ll be in Old Perithia, one of the island’s most unique places to visit. This historic village of Old Perithia is situated northeast of the island, beneath Mount Pantokrator, about 400m above sea level. A Village of Venetian origin, built in the 14th century while the island was under Byzantine rule, was once a hideaway from pirates.

Driving with your rental car through village Strinilas, at an altitude of 917m, it is built the Monastery of Pantokratoras, dating from the end of the 17th century. Mount Pantokrator is Corfu’s highest peak in the north of the island, offering endless views over the island, the Ionian Sea, and the Albanian mountains.

You either head back to Corfu town or continue your trip to the west. The beaches and resorts of Acharavi, Sidari, and Agios Georgios line the northwestern coasts of Corfu. Sidari is one of the most popular and lively tourist resorts, known for The Channel of Love, also known as “Canal d’Amour”, the most photographed beach in Corfu.
